Each week I will be releasing a playlist with a Halloween theme.  This week it’s a simple warm up.  It starts with some good classics and then takes you for a ride.  I recommend listening to it in order, but you can shuffle as well.

Season of the Witch – Donovan – The best way to open a Halloween playlist.  Creepy, haunting and classic.

I Put a Spell on You – The Animals – A variation on the Screamin’ Jay song to stay with the vibe.  A later playlist will have the original because you can’t have a Halloween set without it.

Sympathy for the Devil – Rolling Stones – I really like this song and it fits great on a solid Halloween playlist.

I Walked with a Zombie – Roky Erickson – What can I say, I like Zombies.

Spooky – Dusty Springfield – This is such a great sexy jam.  It’s on a lot of soundtracks and I’m pretty sure gets a lot of plays by burlesque performers.

Ghost Town – The Specials – I love this song and the final playlist has a brass band version.  It’s so good.

Little Ghost – The White Stripes – Another song I absolutely adore.  It’s very charming.  Incroyable and I sang it once for a Ghostbusters Burlesque show.   That happened.

Zombieland – T Bone Burnett – Spotify threw this in a playlist for me and it’s a good find.

Special Death – Mirah – Although AHS used this song in the first season I still like it.  It had been my dirty little secret for so long!

Cities in Dust – Siouxsie and the Banshees – This song is also creepy and haunting which gives it a special place in my black little heart.

Bela Lugosi’s Dead – Bauhaus – How could I not?  It’s one of the best Halloween songs of all time.

Wolf Like Me – TV on the Radio – I love TVOTR and this is by far one of my favorites.

Next week will be a totally different vibe.  Enjoy!
